After realizing that what had been born as a marriage of convenience had turned into true love, Ukyo decided that she would end up bothering Ranma, managing to convince even the other two suitors (beating them) to leave the field to Akane.
After these painful decisions Ukyo devoted herself more intensely to the study of martial arts, changing fighting style and training until exhaustion. After obtaining her diploma, on the advice of Nabiki (who in the meantime had become her friend), she enrolled in psychology.
Initially she failed to take her degree because after some time she enlisted in the self-defense terrestrial forces (JGSDF - Japanese Ground Self Defense Force - the Japanese army).
Finished the training she was assigned to a rescue unit based in Aomori Prefecture. It was during the service in this unit that, during a rescue operation in the mountains, she was seriously injured.
Survivor of the terrible wounds she suffered, Ukyo was finally dismissed (the medical commission established that due to the severity of the injuries reported at various points in the body, Ukyo was no longer suitable for military life).
After a long rehabilitation, Ukyo gladly accepted to become the partner of her best friend, who in the meantime had abandoned the catwalks and had become one of the best psychologists of the entire nation.
Ukyo is a sincere and loyal friend, and on more than one occasion has endangered her own life to save the people she loves, but the years spent in the army have shown her all the horrors of war and suffering that men are able to cause their own kind, and this causes a sense of annoyance towards others, who don't realize how lucky they are to never know things like hunger or fear. |

After leaving the army, Ukyo became Nabiki's (au pair) partner. She is also a psychologist and, despite not having much experience, she is an excellent collaborator (and, often, a substitute). |
